Let’s get to know YOU:
Tell us a little bit about yourself (mini bio): I’m Caroline, 22 years old from Norway. I love black metal music and goth culture, which involves, music, literature and other art forms. It’s also a way of life and a certain look. I am educated in hairdressing and make-up artistry, and I love to express myself creatively in my hair and make-up! I’m also a Wiccan, so I’m a witch – but what that actually means is that I’m a treehugger, haha! I include all of these topics in my blog.
What’s the purpose of your blog? I blog about the goth lifestyle!
Who’s your target? I want to show people what it’s really like to be a goth / alternative. Both for outsiders and for all of the ‘’babybats’’ who think it’s about being super spooky 24/7. That’s why I post every single outfit I wear, no matter how boring!
What’s the best way for your audience to contact you? On my blog itself, social media accounts or email @ email@example.com
How would you describe your blogging style? I’d say it’s a mix of casual (everyday life + outfit) and serious. I have already done some more serious and informative posts, and plan to do lots more in the future!
When did you start blogging? At the start of 2017!
What inspired you to start blogging? I’m a curator in the Gothic community on the app Amino, and found myself being looked up to by many younger ‘’babybats’’, and got a lot of questions again and again, plus seeing many misconceptions about the culture. So I decided to expand and take it on a bigger scale!
Blogging goals: I don’t really have any, but I would like to spread awareness about what it’s really like being alternative!
If you could start blogging all over again, what would you do differently? Maybe I’d use another platform, as Blogger doesn’t seem to be as popular and the best one anymore. But I chose it because it’s what I know!
How do you motivate yourself to continue blogging? Before I decided to make a blog, I made this huge list of blog topics, both for things I can do several times, and one-off serious / informative posts. I’m passionate about what I blog about, and I guess that’s the most important thing.
What attributes has helped you become successful blogger? I guess being unique? A lot of people admire that for some reason.
How have you tried to increase your blog traffic? Which way has been the most successful? I link to my blog posts on relevant facebook pages and groups, and also just started to do the same on Google plus.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? I don’t really have one – I’m honestly not much of a fan of social media, haha.
Most of your traffic comes from which social media platform? Facebook
What’s your favourite blogging group on Facebook? Boost Your Blog, where I found you!
What’s your greatest win so far with blogging? People read it!
Has blogging surprised you in any way? If so, how? I thought blogging was something that wasn’t as popular anymore. As I got into it again (I used to blog in my teens), I noticed it’s a huge thing! A lot of people are so serious about it and treat it as the ultimate business, but I don’t consider it that way. I just think it’s fun!
How often do you publish a post? At least every other day
Have you had writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome it? The other day I consulted my blog idea list, and nothing jumped out at me. But then I was reminded of a youtube video about a cause I saw, and I wrote my most successful post to date! (The Right To One’s Identity)
Do you have a blogging schedule? Daily theme? Please share! I blog every other day, because that’s how often I change clothes. On the weekends I tend to try to do more special posts, and every Sunday I post for my Weekly Wicca series.
Do you accept guest posts? If yes, tell us about it! I haven’t considered that yet, but if any other goth bloggers out there wants to, please contact me!
Have you made money from blogging? If so, how? No, but I just got Adsense for it, so maybe one day, haha!
How long had you been blogging before you made any money? I think my blog was about one month old when I had enough views to activate Adsense. That surprised me!
What type of blogs are you interested in reading and why? I would love to check out other goth bloggers and beauty blogs, but I’m pretty open!
Leave a message for your readers: Thank you to everyone reading my blog! I’m shocked by how many people are reading it, and it makes me happy!
