Let’s get to know YOU:
Tell us a little bit about yourself (mini bio):
My name is Danielle. I live in NJ with my husband, dog, foster dog, and cats. Realm of Vibes is where I write about product reviews for small businesses and brands highlighting how their product ties into different aspects of my life. Writing and taking pictures are my creative outlets.
What do you do outside of blogging (think school or work): I am an occupational therapist, dog rescue foster parent and volunteer who likes to read, practice yoga, hike, and travel.
What do you like to do on your down time? Read and watch reality television.
Blog niche: Lifestyle encompassing product reviews, dog rescue, drinking, health, happiness, and other life shenanigans
What’s the purpose of your blog? I love helping small companies grow and prosper through my creative writing.
Who’s your target? Depends on the post, but anyone who loves dogs, yoga, drinking, and health + wellness would like my blog
What’s the best way for your audience to contact you? email@example.com
How would you describe your blogging style? Authentic. Realistic. I don’t write about anything I wouldn’t recommend. I write the truth.
When did you start blogging? December 2016
What inspired you to start blogging? I used to write product reviews for a company that has since closed. I am filling a void by blogging and working with small businesses, companies and brands that need help promoting. My passion is writing and helping people; blogging allows me to do both.
What’s the biggest change in your life since you started blogging? My job as an occupational therapist is very physical. Blogging is sedentary. I have to get up and move every 15 minutes or so…
- Short term: To work with more small companies to promote their product/brand; have them solicit me, not the other way around
- Long term: To grow my readership, monetize my blog, move to a self-hosted server
If you could start blogging all over again, what would you do differently? I would have started on a self-hosted server.
How do you motivate yourself to continue blogging? I write about products and things that I am passionate about. Why bother doing something that doesn’t motivate me?
What attributes has helped you become successful blogger? I don’t consider myself a successful blogger. I consider myself a hustler with a passion. I am persistent and a perfectionist. I want the companies I support to be proud of my work. I am diligent and motivated to succeed.
How have you tried to increase your blog traffic? Which way has been the most successful? I spend a lot of time trying to increase my readership. I try to read, like, and comment on other people’s blogs. I am involved in a plethora of Facebook groups for growing my blog and social media sites; I think those are the most helpful.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? Instagram. I love looking at pictures and interacting with small companies and businesses through direct message. It’s easy and doesn’t take too much time.
Most of your traffic comes from which social media platform? Facebook
What’s your favourite blogging group on Facebook? Blogging with a Smile. The admin is super helpful and it’s an active group. They have given me a lot of feedback that has really helped my blog posts.
Do you have a freebie for your readers? If so, what is it? Do we need to subscribe to receive it? Not yet.
What’s your greatest win so far with blogging? Having the opportunity to work with seven companies in two months of starting my blog.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve so far with blogging? Patience is a virtue. There are so many elements to blogging that I never knew existed and it takes time to learn; it’s a lot of trial and error.
Has blogging surprised you in any way? If so, how? The complexity; I can’t believe all of the different components. (Writing, working with companies, taking pictures, promoting on social media)
How often do you publish a post? 2-3x/week
Have you had writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome it? Yes. I shut down my computer and do something creative. Usually I read or take a walk outside. It refreshes my mind. I also take a smudge stick and whirl it around where I blog. It cleanses the air.
Do you have a blogging schedule? Daily theme? Please share! No, I do not have a blogging schedule. I am a free bird. I write when I feel like writing.
Have you guest posted for someone? No, right now I am too busy trying to write for my blog.
Do you accept guest posts? If yes, tell us about it! I haven’t solicited guest posts, yet. Keyword, yet. I would love guest posts on anything that fits my niche.
Have you made money from blogging? If so, how? I have monetized my blog through Amazon’s affiliate program. I also have received compensation from companies who have sent me products for me to review and promote.
How long had you been blogging before you made any money? Within a week of starting my blog, I was writing product reviews. I think that’s pretty spectacular.
