Tell us a little bit about yourself (mini bio): I work full time in the informational technology field and am relatively new to my business and to blogging. I am passionate about wellness and about using natural products as a part of an over-all wellness life style. I love aromatherapy and using essential oils to support my family’s wellness goals. In addition to essential oils and aromatherapy, I also love writing about topics related wellness. I am currently completing a full certification as an aromatherapist to help me share my passion with others as well as help my family.
What do you do outside of blogging (think school or work): I work in the information technology department of a community college in upstate New York.
What do you like to do on your down time? Read, cook, knit, photography, spend time outdoors, make my own personal care products.

What’s the purpose of your blog? Sharing information about aromatherapy, essential oils, and general wellness topics.
Who’s your target? Men, women, massage therapists, chiropractors, people in the wellness field, people who care about fitness.

How would you describe your blogging style? Knowledge sharing, relaxed

What inspired you to start blogging? My passion for quality essential oils and wellness and helping people remove toxic chemicals from their lives.
What’s the biggest change in your life since you started blogging? Attracting people to the site.

  • Short term: share knowledge that helps people remove chemicals from their lives.
  • Long term: build a business
If you could start blogging all over again, what would you do differently? I just started so it’s hard to say.
How do you motivate yourself to continue blogging? Helping people and sharing knowledge is important so when I am inspired by something I learn I feel compelled to share it.
What attributes has helped you become successful blogger? I am still new but when I take something on, I am determined and usually consistent.
How have you tried to increase your blog traffic? Which way has been the most successful? I have a Facebook page and I try to direct people to my website and my blog from that page. I use a WordPress site which has tools that help maximize traffic. Also I take training on how to write for the internet audience. I monitor traffic regularly and I get several new people each day. Time will tell how much new traffic I will get. I also post links to the blog in various Facebook groups.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? Facebook and Instagram because of the potential to reach people.
Most of your traffic comes from which social media platform? It’s a toss up between Facebook and Instagram.
What’s your favourite blogging group on Facebook? Blogging 101
Do you have a freebie for your readers? If so, what is it? Do we need to subscribe to receive it? I have not offered free incentives as yet and subscribing is not necessary at this time.
What’s your greatest win so far with blogging? It’s hard to tell since I just started.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve so far with blogging? Using Facebook ads to generate traffic. I also learned to keep a stash of articles ready to go so that I don’t run into issues with running out of things to write about.
Has blogging surprised you in any way? If so, how? Really how much I am learning from the blogging group and how supportive everyone is.
How often do you publish a post? My goal is to post every two weeks right now.
Have you had writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome it? Not yet. My chosen field is rich with information so topics are not hard to find.
Do you have a blogging schedule? Daily theme? Please share! My schedule is to try to write every other week. Once a month I plan to feature a specific essential oil for that month.

What type of blogs are you interested in reading and why? Wellness, clean eating, Paleo, herbalism, aromatherapy, nutrition. I want to make some life-style changes so I am always looking for ways to improve my health.
