Tell us a little bit about yourself (mini bio): I’m Kat, born and raised in Finland, currently living in Sf Bay Area after spending over 10 years in NYC. I’m a Wellness Blogger, a Holistic Health Coach, yogi, wife and mama of two cats, Miina and Moses.
What do you do outside of blogging (think school or work): I work part-time at a hotel.
What do you like to do on your down time? Take yoga classes, ride my bicycle, cook vegan foods, write, hang out at cafes, take walks on the beach and explore San Francisco.

What’s the purpose of your blog? Inspire women to live a happy, healthy, inspiring life.
Who’s your target? Women from their 20’s to 50’s.

How would you describe your blogging style? Easy-going, little bite-sized pieces of information, lots of colorful photos and always lots of humor.
When did you start blogging? About 6 years ago.
What inspired you to start blogging? I wanted to show my friends and family in Finland what my life here was like so it started out as a picture diary.
What’s the biggest change in your life since you started blogging? I feel much more inspired every day to share my message of good living.
- Short term: Replace my hotel job income.
- Long term: Make full-time income from blogging.
If you could start blogging all over again, what would you do differently? I would learn to monetize from early on and network and work together with other bloggers.
How do you motivate yourself to continue blogging? I read inspiring blogs.
What attributes has helped you become successful blogger? Staying true to my own voice and not trying to imitate others.
How have you tried to increase your blog traffic? Which way has been the most successful? Sharing constantly on social medias.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? Instagram because I like sharing visuals of my daily life.
Most of your traffic comes from which social media platform? Facebook.
What’s your favourite blogging group on Facebook? The Art of Better Blogging.
Do you have a freebie for your readers? If so, what is it? Do we need to subscribe to receive it? I have a few freebies on my blog from Healthy City Guides to Detox Guides and they do act as my opt-ins so you do need to give out your email to receive them.
What’s your greatest win so far with blogging? Getting into the flow of blogging and staying in the schedule.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve so far with blogging? Don’t try to pretend to be something you are not. It will show.
How often do you publish a post? 3 times a week.
Have you had writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome it? I get blocked once a year and I do not try to force myself to write. For me, it means that it’s time for a break, and therefore I will honor it and take a break from blogging.
Do you have a blogging schedule? Daily theme? Please share! I usually publish posts on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Do you accept guest posts? If yes, tell us about it! Yes, I accept holistic wellness related posts and plant-based recipe posts with pretty pictures.
Have you made money from blogging? If so, how? Yes, mostly through sponsored posts, but also small amounts from affiliate marketing, which is something that I’ve just started with a couple of companies.
How long had you been blogging before you made any money? Years! (That’s because I did not monetize my blog).

Give advice to someone who wants to start blogging: Don’t be afraid to reach out to other bloggers you like for collaborations or interviews. Learn to take beautiful photos, they make all the difference. Always be true to who you are and let your personality shine through your posts. Your wants are worthy, your voice is valid. So stop playing small.
Tell us one thing your readers don’t know about you: I’m scared to death driving a car! I do have a driver’s license, but I do not own a car nor drive one because of this terrible fear of driving. Any tips to get over this would be appreciated…
