Let’s get to know YOU:
Tell us a little bit about yourself (mini bio): I am a 21-year-old female with a passion for young people. I have a baby gecko named Kaida who is just adorable! My Bearded Dragon, Little Man, and Dog, Benny, just recently passed.
What do you do outside of blogging (think school or work): Working on a Master’s degree in counseling, work part-time as a direct care worker and managing a small, local ice cream shop.
What do you like to do on your down time? yoga, minecraft, organizing and reorganizing my stuff, volleyball
Blog niche: Lifestyle, Organization, Mental Health
What’s the purpose of your blog? The main reason is to help out my readers! Jihi is a Buddhist term that refers to eliminating suffering with compassion. Likewise, this is the goal of Jihi Elephant. (
Who’s your target? Young, busy men and women
What’s the best way for your audience to contact you? By using one of my social media or filing out the form on my site (
How would you describe your blogging style? My style is a little more than most, but I am working on loosening that up. I am more used to writing formal research and legal documents so this may take me some time. I like to make small jokes during my posts to keep the mood light.
When did you start blogging? I just started blogging February 10th 2017
What inspired you to start blogging? I had been looking into blogging since graduating with my undergrad degree in December 2016 but did not think I would be good enough. When i began working as a direct care worker on midnights I found myself constantly researching it and decided to go for it I wanted to focus on mental health and organization because I feel that these topics are linked. However, I am also interested in writing about a multitude of other topics, so I decided to also write about lifestyle topics.
What’s the biggest change in your life since you started blogging? Since I have only just begun blogging the biggest change is that I am more busy. I feel that once I have my site established, it will become an enjoyable (and hopefully profitable because graduate school is not cheap) hobby.
Blogging goals:
  • Short term: Short-term, I would like to get my blog established and running smoothly so that I can feel comfortable drawing people to my site.
  • Long term: Long-term, I would like my blog to become profitable. I will be satisfied with enough profit to pay off what money I put into the blog. I’d love to eventually get enough following to have a community for myself and my readers to belong to.
If you could start blogging all over again, what would you do differently? I haven’t really gotten far enough to know of any mistakes I have made
How do you motivate yourself to continue blogging? I love writing and sharing my ideas, so that is my biggest motivator.
What attributes has helped you become successful blogger? My organized nature has probably been my most helpful attribute, especially because it is one of the topics of often write about.
How have you tried to increase your blog traffic? Which way has been the most successful? I do not have any traffic yet, this interview is my first attempt to get traffic. Soon I also plan to begin pinning my posts to pinterest and posting it to my other social media.
What’s your favourite social media platform and why? I absolutely LOVE Instagram, you don’t have to sift through a bunch of reading. Because of how visual it is, I get to see an idea before I bother reading about it.
Most of your traffic comes from which social media platform? N/A
What’s your favourite blogging group on Facebook? The only blogging group I am currently a part of is Blogging 101
Do you have a freebie for your readers? If so, what is it? Do we need to subscribe to receive it?  Nothing yet
What’s your greatest win so far with blogging? I think starting the blog is my biggest win so far. Getting started is often the biggest hurdle, and I have done exactly that!
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve so far with blogging? The biggest lesson I have learned is the value of reaching out for help. I love trying to figure stuff out on my own. But when it came to blogging, I quickly learned that I can not do this on my own.
Has blogging surprised you in any way? If so, how? I was actually surprised by both how easy and how hard it was. If was far more technical than I had expected, but designing my sight has been fairly easy.
How often do you publish a post? Right now I am posting about once every other day, However, once I get a solid post bank accumulated I would like to post once a week on Fridays.
Have you had writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome it? I have an idea bank of over 150 ideas, some of which are going to be more difficult and time-consuming than others. That being said, I have not yet experienced writer’s block.
Do you have a blogging schedule? Daily theme? Please share! The schedule that I will use once I have a few posts on my site is to post every friday. The 1st friday of each month will be a lifestyle post, the 2nd an organizational post, the 3rd a mental health post and the 4th will be random.
