Meet Taylor #TheBloggerBehindTheBlog
Let’s get to know YOU:
Tell us a little bit about yourself (mini bio): If you were to ask what my personal style is I would have no idea, each day is different and I blame this on being from a small beach town on Lake Michigan and also having grown up in an amish town, definition of middle of nowhere.

What do you do outside of blogging (think school or work): Outside of blogging I am very big into photography. I have several editorials on my blog already and always shooting more. I also love designing clothes which I plan to show more of!

What do you like to do on your down time? My down time is usually spent reading or sun gazing. Meditation is the best medicine and I get the most out of the practice when the sun is out.

Blog niche: My blog niche is the gap between concept and runway.

What’s the purpose of your blog? The purpose of Capitol F is to showcase brands and the details that make them unique to the industry.

Who’s your target? My target audience is not so specific but to any man and woman in the industry or anyone questioning its importance.

What’s the best way for your audience to contact you? Getting a hold of me through any social media outlet is by far the easiest way. I don’t get to my email but a few times a week however, you can still reach me there too!

How would you describe your blogging style? My blogging style is of dramatic event or some serious trend research. It’s small town inspired, minimalism.

When did you start blogging? I began blogging in 2015

What inspired you to start blogging? I wanted to create a blog to keep my creativity going. Ive worked at a daycare for many years, unrelated to my college degree and realized I wasn’t doing anything for myself. I believe it is very important to not only be identified by your job.

What’s the biggest change in your life since you started blogging? I don’t believe I have had much change since I began blogging but I do hope this adventure opens new doors and experiences for me.

Blogging goals:
  • Short term: My short term goal is to clearly identify my blogs meaning of delivering the design process of a brand.
  • Long term: Long term I want to be a blog that becomes a source for trend researching.

If you could start blogging all over again, what would you do differently? If I could start over and do anything differently I would have been better prepared with my photo quality. It still is not perfect but it will get there.

How do you motivate yourself to continue blogging? Being a daycare provider is enough motivation in its self to keep blogging. My blog is my relaxation after a stressful day.

What attributes has helped you become successful blogger? This would never be possible if I didn’t have my friends to help with the creative process.

How have you tried to increase your blog traffic? Which way has been the most successful? This is something I am still trying to figure out. I have used paid ads on Facebook at first but have realized communicating with my audience does just the same.

What’s your favourite social media platform and why? I love using Instagram. Its easy to use and convenient when I’m looking for inspiration or sparking up conversation.

Most of your traffic comes from which social media platform? Instagram for sure!

What’s your favourite blogging group on Facebook? Fashion Pro Blogger is an amazing community I joined when I began my blog, it is a group of blogger students who share ideas and offer help and support.

Do you have a freebie for your readers? If so, what is it? Do we need to subscribe to receive it?

What’s your greatest win so far with blogging?

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve so far with blogging?

Has blogging surprised you in any way? If so, how? Blogging is a game and I thought it would be an interesting one to play and it is. What surprises me the most is how many bloggers there are, bloggers who want to make it big. Of course everyone wants success but few do.

How often do you publish a post? I have changed my blog around a few times but I try to post once a week.

Have you had writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome it? I absolutely get writers block and sometimes I sit on something for too long trying to figure it out but it’s best to just toss it out the window. If you’re stuck in writers block, I think thats a sign you’re not entirely into what you are trying to write.

Do you have a blogging schedule? Daily theme? Please share! I have a scattered schedule. I do the same thing every month but it is never in the same order. I take one week to create all of my content for the following month and have posts and links at the ready for social media. Sometimes I slack but I try to keep motivated!

Who’s your favourite blogger before you started blogging and why? (Name and blog URL) Before I began blogging, I was endlessly obsessed with Kristina Bazan from I love how she tells an entire story with every article but today I look to and wish I could sell my soul to get my hands on Danielles closet.

Who’s your favourite blogger now and why? (Name and blog URL)

What type of blogs are you interested in reading and why? I look for blogs that give me something to read, something that contains informations that could possible educate me and give me influence or inspiration. Style blogs are not something I am drawn to because the same information is more than likely on their social media post but, don’t get me wrong, I am always looking for style inspiration.
